I just got off the phone with Michael Storey, the store manager for the Kroger at Crosstown. He said that beginning Wednesday, June 11, his store will open a Boar’s Head deli, selling a full line of Boar’s Head products, including meats, cheeses, hotdogs, bacon and other pre-packaged items.
Kroger will join two other stores in [...]

Gourmet Onions
I was flipping through a cookbook I gave my mother for Christmas in 1985 called “A Grand Heritage,” compiled by Heritage Academy in Columbus. According to the tag inside the cookbook, I bought it for Mama at The Kangaroo Pouch in Oxford (I don’t think that shop is there anymore. I used to go there [...]

The best part? It has [...]

Old recipe resurfaces
One of my “stretch goals” for 2008 is to organize the six years’ worth of Cook of the Week recipes and recipes I’ve written about in my column, Speaking of Food, so that it takes me less time to find them when readers call or write asking for them.
Today, I’ve been working on recipes from [...]
