I talked to Al Wallace at IV’s restaurant in Tupelo earlier today and he said he was re-opening his restaurant on Monday, Dec. 1, at its new location on West Main Street across from Ballard Park.
The lunch and dinner menus will change – no more white tablecloths, just good food prepared simply.
Read more about Al’s move and new concept in the Food & Dining section of the Daily Journal on Wednesday, Nov. 26.

A couple of co-workers went there for lunch as well. They said the food was good, but could have been warmer. Apparently, there was some malfunctioning equipment that will be taken care of immediately.
I’ll probably give them a couple of weeks to work all the kinks out before I give it a shot.

Went last night. The food was good but the service was absolutely deplorable. The worst I have ever had in my life of dining out. I had to chase my waitress down twice. While my food was good, it was not hot by the time she got it to us. Mentioned my problem to the hostess and the person I took to be the manager – they didn’t seem bothered. My friends went for a Christmas party, last night also. They said their food was ice cold by the time they got it. Unless these problems are addressed I don’t see a long future for IV’s…

I hope Al Wallace is reading this blog. He needs to know when people have complaints, especially if they could endanger the future of his business.

I’ve been to IV’s a few times now, as I live on that side of town, and have been enjoying having a new spot to dine. The service was a little off the first couple of times, but had greatly improved over the next lunch and dinner that we had. I just chalked it up to the ‘opening kinks’ and my food was always solid.
I will say the lunch buffet on Sunday is a good deal and a great meal. The Sunday lunch seems to be going over well. I wouldn’t write him off just yet.

This is good news. I never try a restaurant in the first month or so it’s open. As you say, too many kinks to work out.

Is IV’s going to have a new website….or maybe, is the old site going to be updated??
